I started this blog and then it went nowhere until now. I suppose it's because I've had a love/hate relationship with the whole living with Crohn's disease lately. I mean, I hate that I have it, but I accepted it a long time ago. And then in December at a yearly check up the doctor brought up the possibility of a second colonoscopy - to see if the signs of Crohn's Disease were there still and he told me this would need to happen during a flare up. It had been a long time since I had a flare up but someone, somewhere must have known I wanted answers because this spring I was in a full on flare up. And so the scope was done, and yes, he saw the Crohn's again. I was put on Imuran (a treatment I've never been on before this) and it didn't agree so well with my body...I think my body hated it. I'm currently off the Imuran after having a bad time with it but I seem to be doing really well on the Pentasa (maintenance) and Entocort (low-dose steroid). I have a follow up apt. soon and I'm hoping that I can be weened off the Entocort and resume my normal living activities with only the Pentasa (I know, I know...wishful thinking). I really do what to try to keep up this blog as I continue through my journey with Crohn's...and especially as my friend and I join Team Challenge and work our way to the goal of the 1/2 marathon in Las Vegas this December.
Well...I hope it's not another 6 or 7 months before you hear from me again...
